Modifying Stock ECM

In order to run the larger injectors say 83s what exactly has to be done to the ECM? Is it a DIY job or does it need to be done professionally?

The parts are hard to come by, and if you've never done one before you are on your own for figuring out what and how. Red Armstrong at Quad Air is about the only person still doing this. He doesn't use email or the web but his # is 440 235-3232.
