i have a quick ? if i put a set of alumiunum heads will it be a big diffrence in power??? thx
 
does it have any mods? or is it all stock? i.e. injectors, exhaust, turbo, cam, etc??

I'm still learning too....but there are much lower cost changes you can make to get max power out of your stock engine. From what I've gathered, a head swap probably doesn't need to happen until after you get it into 11 second range....or wait until you blow your first head gasket.

Do your spring cleaning first, make sure you have a good Walbro fuel pump and hotwire it, Get the scanmaster and a boost gauge if you don't already have them then Search through the General tech and Engine forums and you'll come out with you head full of fantastic ideas to start bumping performance. Then all you gotta do is start charging the credit cards to their limits.

Where do you live? Any mods done to it yet? I wouldn't worry about alum heads quite yet. There's no shortage of neato parts to throw at these cars. IMHO, the most effective thing that you can throw at them is knowledge. You've come to the right place. Theres lots to learn here. What are your goals? These cars are amazing. If one of these cars isn't tuned correctly, you can blow the head gaskets, and bottom end out of it in no time. However, The same properly tuned, "almost" stock car can make a Viper owner wish that he'd never taken out that second mortgage on his house to buy that slow @$$ Dodge;) . Find out who the TB locals are in your area, and see what worked for them, and others to get to there power levels, and goals. On these cars, what not to do, is just as important (if not more) as what to do. The more you understand these things, the more you'll enjoy seeing the power they hold. And, don't ASSume that the guy you bought it from has it tuned properly.

Start out with the easy stuff, Chip, injectors,exaust,& 3 " downpipe. cold air kit,in tank pump, new fuel filter, plugs ,wires,coil pack, Alky kit, scan master & learn it well, All this should show some good results. Next a trans rebuild & 3200 stall & pt-61 turbo, sticky tires & 22 # of boost should net you an 11 second et slip. The fun of it is to see results & enjoy the hobby without wasting money on things that are not needed & you're not ready for till you max out this recipe & grow with the project.
 
1-spring clean the vehicle
2-42lbs injectors with turbo tweak chip
3-walbro 340 fuel pump with fullthrottle hot wire kit
4-boost gauge(if you dont have one already)
5-cold air intake and a adjustable waistgate(kirban sales the HD units)
6-3" downpipe RJC sales some very nice units and are american made,heres a hint anything that is chromed out is usually made in china.. use this wisely
7- scanmaster scan tool fullthrottle also sale these units and works great

with this combo youll be in the low 12s easily at around 19lbs of boost, if you want to go higher on boost than you should look into a razors alky injection kit it works miracles with these buicks. with all these mods you still be under what a set of aluminum heads would cost you.
 
Nice car, but be fair warned. These cars are sensative if you go pumping up the boost, and dont do your home work!!! GOOD OCTAIN, GOOD FUEL PUMP!!! Then you may play. DONT, I REPEAT DONT LET ANYONE ONE WORK ON YOUR CAR THAT DONT OWN ONE. I DONT CARE IF THEY OWN 10 CLASSIC CARS, BUT DONT OWN, AND HAVE RACE A T-TYPE, OR GN!!!
