are these 2 products pretty much the same thing?

is one better than the other? they both are supposed to clean out carbon.. any opinions of questions or comments?

I've used Top Engine Cleaner from GM before on my TBI truck & my 87 carburated Cutlass Supreme and it got the job done. A hell of a lot of smoke when you do it but is normal. :D

I've used the Seafoam in the same way as GM's top end cleaner. Makes a lot of smoke, too. You can use it to see if your d/s header is cracked while you clean.

Last month I put some in and found my header cracked. I replaced the header and tried some more Seafoam to verify that I had no leaks at the header, but now my top end was already clean so not enough smoke to tell :(
