i ran the chip that came with my junkyard 87 ecm for a while without any problems- the paint marker on the ecm case said it was out of a fwd Olds... i just drove it nice and didn't let it build too much boost.. then i got a chip from Turbotweak and it ran better than any stock 80's GM fuel injected vehicle ever did... well worth the $75 or so it cost in 2009 dollars.

Yeah get a chip programmed to your setup from turbotweak.

Its not worth damaging the motor

So a 87 chip isn't to good I'm gonna run 87 mass air flow and intake air temp
If your stock hot air maf is good, leave it.

Get a tt chipburned for your hot air car with an 86/87 ecm, you dont need the intake air temp sensor because it doesnt effect anything but cold start im pretty sure.

True.
If you are serious, install the IAT sensor and move it to read MAT.
It will confirm a lot. [emoji6]
