This is Dave, dad of Derek (quicker6). I just put my engine back together (top half rebuild) and can't get it to fire up. I've been checking with my son on a few things, but still no luck. I've got spark off of my coil-pack and fuel pressure at the injectors. Engine turns over good, but it doesn't seem to want to fire. I checked all my plug wires and injectors, and they are in the right place. I believe all my grounds are on now (after I found a couple I missed!). Is it possible my injectors are not getting a signal to dump fuel in?
What's the easiest way to check this? Any help would be appreciated!! Especially if you can swing by and look at it.

Thanks,
Dave

Was the injector harness disconnected from behind the block? If so, maybe thats worth checking again to be sure it making a good connection.

Hi Dave!

You can use a noid light to check the injectors. Pull a spark plug out. Does it smell like gas? If not, the injectors are probably not firing.

Dave, this is Rob...

Did you have the Timing Cover off? If so my bet is on the cam sensor.

LMK, I need to get with you about the hood and decklid anyway...

Hi John,

I didn't disconnect the harness from the back. Just disconnected from the injectors themselves and folded it out of the way. I'll try and look at the other end anyway.

Hi Geoff,

What is a noid light??? I guess I'll try and pull a plug and sniff.

Hi TurboV6 (Gerald, please correct me if I got the wrong name and I apologize if I got it wrong!)

I didn't mess with the front end of the block at all except to disconnect the crank sensor. I plugged it back in, but I'll check again. My son questioned me on this also.

Hi Rob,

If you want, come by Saturday morning to pickup the rest of the stuff. I'll be working on trying to start the car again, so I'll definitely be home. Call ahead just in case 330-6144.

Thanks to all for your input (especially to my son). Hopefully I'll get it running.

Dave

Thanks to all!!!

Got the car running today!! Rechecked fuses and I found one that I had missed on the last check. Seems to be running good, now I just need to find that spare "S" hose. Leaking water a little.
Thanks again for the advice from all of you.

Dave
