My '86 GN has some serious oxidation on it from sitting outside for 7 years. What should I use to remove the oxidation? I plan on painting it soon, but figured I'd practice buffing on the old paint, and help improve the looks at the same time. Last nigh my son an I sanded an area with 2000 grit and then bufed it with the white Turtlewax polihing compound. It cam out O.K, but I think with the right process, it could be better. Anyone have any tips?

doing it by hand wont cut it. buyyourself a variable speed buffer. also you will need to polish it out with a medium cutting compound, light cut and a swirl mark remover. I suggest 3m perfect it

Assuming it's the original Single stage paint. Go over to meguiarsonline.com and search for oxidation. get yourself a porter cable buffer and your arms will thank you.
