New Door Skins?

Anyone know where to find new or good used unrusted door skins for GN's?

Well, You can't. They've been disco'd for along time now. If you watch ebay, they pop up on there every now and then. I've seen ONE in the last 2+ years...I bought it but paid a FORTUNE for it as far as door skins go...There are also some people just letting them sit for future use (like me).

A cheaper suggestion is to find good rust free doors. It's alot easier and usually you can buy 2 doors for what you will pay for 1 OEM skin.

there are places that make just the bottom skin. I just replaced both mine on my doors, LOTS of work, but well worth it. I used lots of PPG DP90 epoxy on the inside and outside of the door, they will last as long as I do, for sure. you have any more questions or want some pics of my work step by step let me know...

I saw those lower door skins but wondered how the heck to put them on, did you cut the lower half of your door off? If you have pictures that would be awesome.

You can get the lower skins (inner and outer) from Poston. I was gonna use them but found a pair of "mint" used doors at http://www.heidelbergautomotive.com. Rented a pickup from Enterprise and drove there to pick em up.

yeah you cut off the lower skin about 2 inches above the body line. I bonded mine on instead of welding for corrosion issues. Then you have to fiberglass the "overlap" of the seam, and then finish it off with body filler. I just fit mine on the car today and they fit perfect, I'll be painting them next week. Give me a few days and I'll e-mail you guys some pics, unless you have a place I could up-load them...Later..
