i picked up a 80-81 3.8 the other day and i need to know if i can build this into a turbo motor for my 82. the reason i dont really want to build the motor in the car is because it is a 82 and that is the rarist year sport coupe. according to gnttype.org the block and crank are the same. if i got a intake, turbo and every thing else that should be about the same motor right?
the casting #'s for the older motor is 25506818(block) 25506293 (heads)
the 82 has the same crank and block lmk if u guys think it would be worth it

Normally Aspirated (NA) motors can become turbo motors. The differences are the crank, pistons and cam. Turbo cranks have rolled fillets on all journals, NA only the mains (both will have the same casting number).

I have a block out of a '82 Sport Coupe - it is a 25506818 casting and 25506293 heads.

If you are going to replace the motor and you are looking at performance, consider a 4.1 block.
