who makes a kit or how do you adapt a 2001 gm cd/radio(camero) into the buicks spot cleanly?

I put one in my 85 SS without any real problems. As long as
you've got the DIN 1/2 (large radio opening) radio faceplate
you got the biggest hurdle out of the way. On mine I mounted
the radio brackets without the radio. Then I put the '01 radio
in to the opening & marked the holes for the '01 on the stock bracket. I then drilled holes in the stock bracket and put in a nut/lock washer/bolt in each side to mount the '01 bracket to the stock radio. The only other mods I made were to the '01
bracket. I had to trim it so that the screws for the stock bracket
would clear to mount them. Make sure the stock faceplate pins clear the '01 radio and you should be all set.
You'll need a wiring adapter for the stock plugs to '01 radio and
an antenna adapter. The stock antenna plug is larger than the new style. For a wiring diagram for the "01, go here.

The aftermarket wiring adapters may only have 9 instead of ten
wires in the large part of the plug( most are are two piece), the difference will be in the Lights dimming/Lights on connections. And of course the wire colors will be different, but the locations will be the same. You could also do a search here for MONSOON.
Hope this helps.
Larry.
