Hello.

New to the Grand National World. Picking up a 1987 GN this weekend.

It is planned to be a "project car" for me.

But...just in case.......are there any "SPECIALTY " shops around Queens or Long Island that cater to the Grand National crowd?????

Welcome. My shop is located on Long Island for the past 20 years.

There is a group of New York Turbo Buick owners that get together a few times a week at various locations on the Island and there is a G-Body show once a month if you are interested.

Parts Catalog????

Is there a good Parts Catalog I should keep handy???
Or can I get most parts from the local Auto Parts Stores?

Right now I am looking to do the basic "Spring Cleaning" of the car to get it running at a decent level.

Thanks ahead of time.

Before you do anything, give me a call. I will be happy to direct you in the correct direction. As far as parts go, auto part stores are out. I stock many parts and have another vendor on Long Island who has a huge inventory of the correct parts for Turbo Buicks.

Thanks.....I will keep that in mind. Once I get a list of what I need, I will be calling!

Where on the Island are you???

Does your shop have a Dyno?

Can you replace a Heater Core? If so, ball park figure???

Like I mentioned, I plan on doing "most" of the work myself. And will most likely do the basic Fluid/Filter changes when I get the car in my possession. Along with checking the Brakes and Tires. Spark Plugs & Wires, PCV, & anything else that seems easy for me to do.

Is a Brake change "basic"??? I have changed the brakes on my TBSS and on my C5 Corvette

I was going to call you tonight, was thinking of heading over to see Charlie at the show, but something came up as usual. Glad you got the problem squared away. I will get in touch soon.....
