new replacement coil

i was looking for a coil for my 87 gn and i saw something about a type II coil i asked one of the guys about it and he said as long as the connector is the same it will work i work at a wrecking yard so i went out hunting i found the perfect coil it has all the pins and the mounting points are the same as the original it is off of a 97 pontiac grand prix 3800 supercharged engine i am going to install it tonite
