If you Social D fans haven't heard the new album you should give it a listen. It's a pretty good collection of songs. The music isn't as hard edged as their "White Heat White Light White Trash" album, but it still has the familiar Social D sound. Mike Ness' voice sounds great.

This album is a good buy for anyone looking to avoid the typical Top 40 schlock being played on the radio these days. It's old school rock and roll that the wimp bands of today could learn a thing or two from. :)

i'll check it out,
hey whats some good tunes from them?

The best songs off the new album in my opinion are:

Angels Wings
Reach for the Sky
Don't Take Me for Granted
Live Before you Die

:)

If you are downloading songs and are a Social D newbie, I recommend:

Ball and Chain
Story of my Life
So Far Away

If you like harder edge music with more of a punk sound you would probably like cuts from the "White Heat White Light White Trash" album:

Don't Drag me Down
I Was Wrong
When the Angels Sing

:)

I really like the new album, I must agree it's a little less punk but still very good. I'm seeing them at the wiltern on nov. 26th in L.A, should be a good show. Anyways if you like a good rock album def. check it out, much better than most of the crap out there,

Peace
Brian

Hell yeah bitches, got it the first day it came out.

I'd say my favorite track is "Highway 101".

If you're a Social D noob I'd just go buy "Somewhere between heaven and hell" and you'll be hooked for life:D.

Far and away one of the best rock and roll bands of all time.

For you headbangers, also check out the new Helmet CD.

I gave it a listen and it sounds like I will have to buy one this weekend! My favorite Social D song is Prison Bound.

my fav. song is probably angels wings there's a bitchin' acoustic version of it if you can find it. Also I would have to agree with wfo on this one somewhere between heaven and hell is just an amazing album, followed closesly by white light white heat white trash. If you like the new album gotta go check those 2 out. I'm glad there's interest in this band, there really good, and Mike Ness is a cool guy.

Brian

If you don't listen/like "1945" or "Mommy's Little Monster" then just go back to your favorite Britney Spears Punk Rock....:D

Hey Brian. Have a great time at the show!!! I've seen Social D in concert four or five times. They are awesome!!! The best venue in my opinion is the House of Blues in Anaheim.

I wanted to get tickets to see them at the Wiltern, but everything was all sold out. :( I might have to check Ebay and see what the scalpers are getting for tickets. I would pay a small premium, but nothing too ridiculous.

I've never been to the Wiltern. Is it a good venue? How does it compare with HOB?

Hell yeah,"Another state of mind" is one of the best punk songs ever!

hey turbon8r,

My brothers seen em' 3 times at hob's, they play there a lot. Personally i think hob is pretty bassey but its a fun venue being all packed in (i saw king's x there). The wiltern is a huge movie theatre from back in the day so hopefully it wont be echoey or anything. The pit is a lot bigger but my brother said its usually uncomftorably packed but we'll see. The tickets i've seen on e-bay are 2 tix for 80 bucks which isnt bad considering after ticketmaster charges and crap tickets were like 33$ anyways. I hope you get tickets and show up, let me know if you do so i can look out for you. Do you go on sxdx at all? my buddies and I are all on that forum. i think mommy's live is fricken aweeeesome 1945 is an awesome song but i'm sorry i love social D but "wreckage from the past" is pretty damn bad except that song.

peace
Brian
