the new tranny i built and put in my car dosent seem to go into reverse... it does sometimes, but it seems like something isnt right, it backs up, but it takes a lot of RPM's to get it to..

but then i noticed later that when i was messing with it, i put it in reverse, and it like banged into gear... so maybe the shifter linkage is screwed up?

then i have leaks... i know where one is, but i cant get to it right now, its the upper cooler line.. i have to get the car back into the air to adjust that one.. i am not that skinny...

then it is also leaking around the pan... i tryed tighting all the bolts, but it dosent seem to want to stop leaking.. maybe i put too much fluid in??? its right on the mark on the dipstick, so i dont know.

then, i cant seem to adjust the TV cable... i try to push in that little button, but no such luck.. it likes it where it is.. maybe i am doing something wrong, but i was going by what the page said from gnttype.org..

it shifts ok... i think i would like it firmer, but i havent had a chance to get on it.. car is almost out of gas, and i dont want to chance running out of gas just because i want to see how the tranny shifts at WOT...

do you have any solutions to any of these problems? any help is greatly apperciated.

If you had the valves out of hte pump ypu may have installed the 1-2 reverse boost valve incorrectly.

The brass fitting for your top line is probably worn at the seat.
My top line was leaking last week. The end of the line looked good, so I changed the fitting. No more leak! :) You may also have a tear in the seal for the dipstick tube.

Regarding TV Cable. Mine was real hard to push in the D shaped thing to make adjustments. I used a vice grip and a nut to push it in then lots of wd-40 and now its fine. just do it a few times to unstick it!
