i just got my new Aamco performance transmission (lol) put in the other day and they supposedly "set the idle" for me. well i start it and in P or N its fine and usually wont die. but when put in R or D the idle drops and is right at the edge of dying and it oftens dies while backing out of driveway. this only happens @ startup usually but it has hapened after driving before. anyone ever heard of it or had it hapen to them before?

thanks:)

Aamco  good grief.

They CAN'T adjust your idle. It's chip controlled, so if they adjusted what they thought was an idle adjustment screw, they've got your IAC all whacked out. Undoubtedly the TPS is also way out of adjustment

AAMCO???

When you had the trans done, did they change the converter too?? MOST of those shops will not warranty the work unless you let them change the converter too, especially if the trans had a failure as the reason for the "rebuild"..
Could be they don't know the difference between a D-5 and the moon... You could have a diesel converter, a ???

If they did re-use your converter and the trans was trashed, they most likely "flushed" your converter and it's FUBAR w/ trash. This can cause problems too. Greg???
Wrong converter stall.. no idle??

Other item to check.. the TV cable..
