Gas went up 60 cents in the last couple days here. Currently $3.19 for premium at most stations.
A couple days ago I decided to turn down fp (to 36psi), TPS (to .36) and boost as low as I could without the wastegate puck rattling at idle. I know Im getting better gas mileage, but what the heck, this is stupid! This sucks! Ive turned the car into a granny car. Alright, maybe Im exagerating a little about the granny car, but man.
Kind of like a hit in the gut when your already down, to make it worse, why is it that no one ever wants to test me around here normally, but tonight 2 motorcycles, a new convertible Vette, and a '87 GN with Oklahoma plates pop up all of a sudden messing with me :mad: I guess its always like that huh? Maybe its the FP Gauge on my hood that usually scares people off :rolleyes: but not tonight. Funny thing is the Vette [didnt go for very long] didnt really leave me, the bikes had to take a sec to catch up to me, and GN spooled up quicker than me and took a lead but could not pull away [my front bumper was at his back bumper]. Actually it all makes me a bit more mad because if I had everything set where it usually is I would have left them all by some car lengths and got off the pedal instead of wasting gas which is the reason I adjusted everything in the first place :rolleyes: :mad: I tried and actually did good for about a day but I dont think I will be able to fake it anymore. I conclude that the car just needs to be driven like it was meant to be. Now all I need is another source of income just dedicated to gas :rolleyes:

Not fun at all, this game thats being played with us :(

Funny you should post this. I was just thinking about posting a question like;
"How many still drive their GN or thinking about selling becasue of the gas prices?"

Hold on to your hat. Predictions are set at $4.00/Gallon.
Actually, they will be higher yet as the oil companies will start controlling the supply. The increase in gas to "us" will pay for the;
War
Katrina
The "not willing to work"
Illegal aliens healthcare bills
Unemployale,
Grocery increase
Cooling and heating increase
Government gas and cars
etc etc. :tongue:

I can see where (As is the case in Europe), company cars and gas card will become MAJOR benefits in hiring and keeping employees. Of course, that is only the ones that want to work and the employable.
DAMN, the price of freedom :biggrin:

I run straight 110 and bought a few gallons ahead of time, that price is even being effected. Which doesn't make sense not like there's a huge demand for it or anything. But it does make you wonder how this will effect our hobby if this continues.

Yep, there is an excuse for everything. They just wait until something happens and voila a reason to choke us more.
Anything that is transported via truck etc that involves the use of gas is going to go up in price. Would you believe that even the price of Methanol has been steadily going up over the last couple years. Its not oil or petroleum based. Was a $1.50/ gallon here just a year or so ago. Now its $3.50/ gal.

Dont want to give up any of the cars I like to drive, but man is it going to be tough buying gas. There is no little gas saving ride out there that is going to replace all the other joys of having the vehicles we like, so I guess some how I/we are going to have to make it work.

I suppose your talking about the 2nd link in your sig, right? [Not the hotair registry]
Looks interesting, I will have to check it out sometime tommorow when I am more awake [especially with this slow dial-up!]. Thanks.

By the way gas went up another 20 cents here a few hours ago :mad: Thats 80 cents in the last few days. Now its 3.199 for regular and 3.399 for premium. Hey, with all the crying about shortages how do we even know what grade we are really paying for!! (as if we ever knew) I was tempted to put 87/regular in a few days ago but was thinking what if I finally made myself go to the track for the first time this year and had a tank full of regular (if I didnt have the alky injection I wouldnt even kick around the idea).

Luckily, 100LL av gas is still $3.75. I only drive the car every couple weeks so it doesn't affect me too much. I ran my car on 87 octane the last time gas prices went up and I got challenged by everything imaginable. If I can't have it set on kill, I don't drive it.
