To motivate me to finally buy the tires I've been needing....
Ordered a set of Nitto 555R's for the back and will stick with Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's on the front.

The 555R's are great for the street. Slicks are still way better for the track. That reminds me I need to order up another set of drag radials because mine are bald and bald tires suck in the rain!

What did you have on the back ?
Got the Nittos here, good tire.. won't take a 10 PSI launch !, but a good street tire.
6400 miles on them and they still look good.

My old rear tires were Firestone Firehawk Indy 500's...not a terrible tire....but definitely had to use some skills upon take off and for the first couple hundred feet. Last week I got into a contest with a Newer Mustang GT that had an exhaust kit. I must have put down about 700 feet of rubber while staying door to door with him well up to 80+ mph with the tires spinning. When I finally hooked at what seemed to be about an 1/8 mile:D I walked away from him with ease. Later he comes along side and is laughing...
I yell over at him, "Traction issues..."
He says, "I noticed that." while still laughing and shaking his head.

I've run Nitto's before...I only got them to last about 8 months, but I'll see if I can get these to go longer ;)

For the front I'm still looking since they don't carry the Indy 500's in the size I like anymore. I think I'll be going with Mickey Thompson Sportsman ST's as soon as I can get them ordered up.

For the track I already have a set of 9" MT slicks tubed and mounted to a set of Weld Drag Lights, and skinnies for the front if I feel bold...
