well its my turn to fix the my 86 t-type. i was leaving to go to school one mourning and was coming outta the neighborhood and i had to put the gas on just a little bit no more then 5-7 lbs of boost. well i did that and i hear a big bang (backfire abviously) i said oh no what a time to do this. well air was leaking out somewhere and its done this same sound before and it was my crossover pipe that came loose. so i figured it was the same thing nothing major. so i pull the car back to the house and put it on stands. i tighten the cross over pipe bolts and crank it up and what happends it does the same thing by this time i was in a jam and needed to get to school with or without my car. so i call around to my friends cell and ask him what he thought since he has a 86 gn which is awesome and insainly fast to me atleast. but anyways he tells me to check the oil because maybe it was a head gasket. so i looked at the oil and it was perfectly fine well i thought it was the header then maybe it cracked pretty bad so the next day i took the header off and replaced with another on we have from our stack of gn parts lol. anyways i change the headers and get the new one on there and well same out come air is coming from somewhere else
. so i have my father get up under the car and look to se what he could find since he knows about the gns too because he has an 86 gn. so he looks and says theres your problem. i said what he said your head gasket is blown. a piece of the head gasket was hanging over the edge of the block. so now i am like oh great new gaskets and everything how fun and no car to drive to school looks like i gotta ride the cheese
. well i started taking the motor out of the car and now i have the 2 motor mounds left and then i can pull it out but i did all of this myself no joke. and i am only 17 years old sorry but i am kinda proud of my self to be able to do all that my self. but anyways i am pulling the motor so its easier to get to and also i can check on the block and make sure everything is ok i am trying to play it safe. i am also pulling the tranny out because when i come from a dead stop the tranny starts hopping the rear wheels and it really annoying and we go another tranny that i am going to test out. but i was wondering what do i need to torque the head bolt down to i will be using arp bolts i belive and the felpro 1000 head gaskets. any help with this would be nice thanks.
