Oil Bypass Pressure ???

Isn't there a way or has anyone worked to increase the spring tension on the bypass so that there is a greater pressure differential before the bypass opens allowing unfiltered oil to circulate?
I don't like the idea of plugging the bypass because of the filter rupture and oring blowout stories I've read. It would be nice if someone could come up with a quality controlled spring to allow more consistant filteration.
