I'm having issues with my 87 GN...

When I start the car it basically idles very rough to the point where the engine shuts off within about 5 to 10 seconds after starting...

I tried "rev" the engine and give it some gas, but there was just a little response before the engine would jist shut off. I did notice that when I started the car that the "oil/choke" light was flickering the entire time the engine was running, but there is oil in the car, so I'm thinking that it is obviously on because of low oil pressure.

The smell of gas was very potent as well, and I'm not quite sure why I would be smelling such a strong gas odor.

Could anybody give me any type of insight as to what type of problems I may have at this point. The motor had been rebuilt a little less than a year before experiencing the problems.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You

Injector stuck open causing it to be rich, fill the crankcase with gas thereby thinning out the oil causing it to be even richer...

and/or

flattened camshaft causing all the bearing clearances to open up and bleed off oil pressure.

How many miles on the new engine (flat tapped cam?) What does the spark plugs look like? And how full is the oil pan and does it smell like gas?
