I want to install an oil pressure guage, and also want to run a new braided SS line to the turbo. I can't "get in there" where the turbo oil feed line goes into the engine w/o disassembling whatever is around there. My question is, if I install an oil cooler adapter, and DON'T USE IT...could I put a tee in one of the lines for the guage and the turbo feed line, and then just cap off the other side...I just know that that will be MUCH easier. Also, could I run the same oil filter w/ the anti-drainback safety feature?

...or does this just sound stupid?...

Thanks - John ;)

If I'm correctly picturing what you are thinking about, it won't work, you can't plug off one of the oil cooler adapter ports. The adapter is divided into two sections, and these two sections are only connected by a little bitty pressure relief valve. Oil has to be able to flow from one side to the other, and that is through the ports. You could plumb up a jumper line from one port to the other and tee into that if you want.

So I do have to utilize the oil cooler...how come, if I don't utilize the cooler, will anything bad happen by pluging up the other side? Does anyone have any other suggestions?!?

Okay, I'm assuming you're talking about your 84 GN, and I'm also assuming that it is the 84 motor??? Correct???

You can get to the turbo oil feed line from the bottom or if you remove your factory fan shroud(if you still have it and haven't already gone to an elec fan), you can get to it from the top...You may have to move the factory wiring harness a little bit...Look just above the oil filter and to the left of the factory oil pressure sender/harness connector...It is a bit tight there, but you can get to it with everything there...It's easier if you don't have the fan shroud in there, though...

If you run the SS braided oil feed line to the turbo, you can tee off of the feed line and run your oil pressure gauge off of it...

There isn't any way to run an oil feed line and oil pressure line off of an oil cooler adapter...
