Ok. Just bought an f body rad. It has 2 ports for cooler lines. Which lines, oil or trans? And, can I choose? And, if it's for trans, do I HAVE to run an oil cooler? Bison? Mr. Strezo? Mr. Diers? Lou? How mandatory are oil coolers?
And, I know they ran them from the factories, but that was with 195 t-stats, and all that crap. Now we run camaro rads, with 160 tstats, and our cars are running cooler than ever. I'm guessing my oil's going to be just as cool now, as it was back in 87 with a cooler. Am I close?

They are for the trans cooler lines. I haven't run the engine oil cooler lines in years...haven't had any issues...I'm sure running the engine cooler has a lot to do with that. :)

You don't need the engine oil cooler. I would just run an external trans cooler and call it good.
