well i just bought this car a few weeks ago and it seems as if the previous owner bottomed out the car on a rock or something and dented the oil pan... it all of a sudden developed a hole there now and leaked out all my oil all over the driveway... was fine whilst driving but as soon as i parked and looked the next morning it was terrible...

it is a 1995 dodge neon with 2.0 SOHC

i cant find any place with the oil pan in stock and really dont know what to do.... can you weld up an oil pan or should i get a new one? i am just clueless and this really sucks since i will miss work tomorow now and be even more in debt

well i would just appreciate some feedback on this issue and it would greatly help!

autozone and advanced auto dont have any oil pans... would a junkyard sell 1 the same day or do dealers stock this part? i reallly NEED to fix it by about noon tomorow since i am depending on work to pay some bills

thanks again guys

Not sure if oyull find a junk yard that willtake one off a complete motor, A qualified welder could probably repair it,
But if you call you local dodge dealer and he doesnt have one, ask him to check his locater, someone not dar may keep them in stock if they dont.
Hope this helps

ahh ic>>> well the pan is a little rusty so i dont know if that is weldable... and i would imagine if i found a junkyard one i would have to pull it off myself? i never really went to a junkyard before for a big part so i dont know

thanks for the response though... hopefully the dealer isnt too expensive!

Just get it from a dealer. Prolly 70 bucks tops, unless its the cast aluminum one..but I think thats the DOHC only....

Shouldnt take more than an hour to R&R it.

yeah bloody dealer
roughly 120$ for the pan and 30$ for the gasket!

thanks for the replies i was hoping there would be some alternative to the dealer but there was nothing

took about 2 hours... the stupid engine mount was in the way and that was really rusted but it was easy...

thanks for the help!... dealers suck... rip off
