well, lets just put it this way, besides a t type i have for parts and a 50 desoto im turning in to a street rod i dont own a car worth less then 10 grand at the least.

yeah im real sure that i cant afford a wrx but then again why would i want a wrx? there built like tin cans and for me to buy a wrx even a sti would be a HUGE down grade performance wise, i test drove one a while back and it was no where near the performance level that my buick is pushing, it felt like i was driving a civic.

Hahaha...you idiot. It was STOCK! A stock WRX pretty well is even with a stock TR 1/4 mile wise. And, an STI will blow the doors off a stock GN.

Now don't come back with the typical "But for that much $$ I could make a GN run 9's". The point it moot. Yea, and for 1/2 of that I could drop a 502 into a Chevette....blablabla.

Here's the bottom line. TR's are amazing cars, and are probably the most streetable 10-11 sec street cars there is. But, we need to lose the "Ricer" BS with true performance cars from Asia. They are not going to go away, face it. And thinking a TR is going to be chasing a WRX around a race track is dreaming with your eyes open.

Uh.. I dont believe TR's were built to be road course cars in the first place. So whats your deal? No one ever said they made them with Laguna Seca in mind. The GN was built as a commerative car for the Regal's days in the NASCAR circuit. But they were quarter-mile cars.

The WRX, based on World Rallye Cross (WRC) is SUPPOSED to be a road course / dirt course car. Maybe thats why they're so much better in the apex then the Regals.

You're acting as if they were built for the same playing field and fall inferior to the WRX or something. Thats not the case.

Exactly! And, every owner of an Asian car is not a "Ricer". The few months I had my GN and WRX at the same time, I had the best of both worlds. Cars were totally different, and both were killer @ thier applications. I just resent, and am disappointed the TR community, on line @ least, are so closed minded when it comes to imports.
442 posted the link to the GN on a road course, and sorry, it is not very impressive. And everyone should learn to live with the fact the imports are getting faster, and the "fit and finish" on the WRX is far superior to the 2004 Grand Prix I test drove.

i think i see the true problem here. were both the same kind of person, cocky and hard assed. we just have diffrent views on cars. for me asian cars will always be rice, for you buick owners will always be snobby.

We dont have a problem with rice entirely, just the assbags who come on here and put us down to bring themselves and their "rice" up.
We respect some rice and some of their owners. I personally like the Supras and RX7's. Would love to own either. Some of their owners are as close minded as us, if not more. Grandmas car, grocery getter, old technology. Do those sound familiar, thats what your brethren say about TR's.
