Hey, I'm just looking for some input here.
I know I haven't maximized my current setup right now but I definitely wanna be faster than my parts will allow. Right now there is some good stuff for sale on this board, and I'm very interested.

My goals are to a) Run mid-high 11s pretty easily, b) Be fairly streetable, c) Replace as little as necessary, d) Be hella fast on pump gas as well (low boost).

I'm able to drop $1k or so, and wanna be FASTER. Here's what I'm thinking:

Set of 009 injectors with a street and a race-chip
A TE-60 turbo
Airbag for the right-side

Now I have some concerns:
a) Will the TE-60 work with the stock convertor?
b) Do the 009s and TE-60 work well together?
c) Am I cool with the stock Intercooler and Throttle-Body?

I don't wanna need[\B] to maximize my 60', so I don't think I'd NEED a bigger stall. I wanna be semi-fast from a roll as well, and able to run the occasional 11.xx at the track. Stock looks don't matter to me, and gas mileage isn't really a concern. I've got a scantool and some okay tires...But I have the feeling other tires would be in my future with this setup, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. THANKS A LOT!

It takes a good 60' to run an 11. Otherwise your looking at really wanting a LOW 11sec car, if you plan to do it on all the engine.

A 60 will really like a looser then stock converter (I have one). After having been in a car with a 911, everything else is second best. And I've been in a FEW GNs.

Why the fascination for tiny injectors?. Get some 55s and have some room to grow. There is no advantage to small ones other then avoiding the driver update, and some folks are driving 55s without the update.

Stock I/C neck might be a problem.

1/2 the secret is making it tunable, a Translator Plus will help with that.

55s, a 51, 911, and you'll have lots of fun.
lots........

TE60 is a great street turbo. I would take it over a TE44 anyday.

It's not going to want to spool with the stock converter. Like said above, try a 911 or an Art Carr 9 Inch (what I have).

009's are too small IMO. At least get a set of 50's, maybe even 55's.

I would also go with some kind of front mount. I run 21#'s on 94 octane. Most knock I see is 1.2 on the 1-2 shift.

My car holds it own from a roll, but it's way more of a low end beast.

Get a good used 44, good used 50 lb inectors, and an alky kit. That should come in under $1000 and get you close to the 11s in street trim. That way you don't have to run low boost. I had all the stock parts (turbo, injectors, intercooler) and an SMC alky kit, and there wasn't much on the road that could run with me. LS1s, cobras, new vettes, all were seeing the GNs tail lights due to me running 22lbs of boost, and a 108 chip on 93 octane. It was in 12.8 second 105.5 mph tune 100% of the time. Now thats not a monster time, but it was mostly stock.

Thanks for the advice guys. I really wanted to keep everything "on the cheap", but what fun is that??

Honestly though, if I'm really not wanting to replace the stock stall (anything that can stay stock is stayin' that way) should I just go with a smaller turbo?? I think I'd want something bigger than a TA-49...would a TE-44 work well with the stock stall??

Black, I have been infatuated with the idea of an alky kit, but my car has some electrical "quirks" right now that I can't track down. The radio will cut-out temporarily over some bumps, and the cruise control is tempramental. I don't want to rely too heavily on an electric pump to keep my headgaskets on. I think the alky kit sounds like an AWESOME idea though, your setup is sweet.

You really think 42.5#ers won't be enough for high 11s?? I don't wanna roll-cage the car, so I'm "SURE" that'll be as fast as I wanna go. I'll look into the alky some. Thanks again.
