Ok, I know that this is completely off topic of Buick, but it is completely Turbo.
Well, my nephew and his father are frequenters of this site, having a GN, and I thought that this would definately be the place to ask.
So, does anybody know of a Turbo kit for the 4.2 6-cyl Chevy Trailblazer?
I recently bought a Trailblazer and, after driving my nephews GN, I REALLY want to boost my truck.
So, does anybody know of a kit or anything that can help me?
Thanks!

Chris

Thank you for the research, but it's unfortunately (from what I can tell) it's only for the V8 and I have the I6.

...the search continues.

I believe you can use either the Trailblazer kit, or the universal application; as the turbo is downstream, you won't have a problem with mounting (manifolds, etc) and the harness should be usuable. I'd call them and see how much of a plug and play it actually is- I'm sure that they've had requests before.

Never give up- Never surrender!

In one the of last year's Car Craft magazines. There was an article on who had the fastest Real Street car. They all had to run 93 octane and drive the cars around, then run them. 1 guy had a Chevy II wagon that he put in a Turbocharged Trailblazer 4.2l in it. I remember it because I have a Trailblazer too. I forgot the shop that built it, but it had a single turbo with a sheet metal intake. His three runs averaged 9.20 in 1/4's  I also know Whipple had built a supercharger for the 4.2l, but I don't see it anymore. You might e-mail them since that would be a bolt on item. Hopes this helps.

Or just trade it in for a Trailblazer SS. 400hp from the factory is pretty cool too.

Does anyone here know if the bottom end of the I6 will hold the HP?

Keep in mind a turbo will not make it a Grand National.

To be REAL honest... I have driven the SS trailblazer and it will give ANY car on the street a run for it's money minus serious racers... I would look more into an SS TB than turboing your 6. 400+ hp is more than you will make turboing yours...

My friend is in the process of installing a turbo on his Trailblazer SS. He has already run 8.45 @ 83.66 with his tune and fan kit. Can't wait to see what the turbo kit will do.

I've been searching for info on this also, I really can't afford an SS so I would like to add boost to the TB I6 with a turbo or supercharging

That wagon that was in the pump drags was fast he ran 9.24 . that car ran 8.82 at hot rod drag week last year:eek: . the guy lives in cary il. that in line six makes some good power. I would not buy an ss. I would go with the shorter wheel base 2wd and go stealth.

I have an 03 Trailblazer LTZ with the six cylinder and I am drooling looking at the turbo kit. Unfortunately the budget can't handle another toy.

Good luck with yours
