Outside belt moldings

Do these just screw into the door or were they originally held in place with rivets? How did you install them?

They screw into the door. If I remember right ( did mine 4 years ago) Take the door panel; off, your going need a 90 degree screwdriver to get at them, window all the way down, might have to take window out,. Little bit of a pain but not that bad
