I just picked up a vacuum brake booster from a junkyard, but I want to paint it black.
How should I prep it and what should I paint it with?

Thanks
Scott

The cheapest way would be to scuff it up and paint it with a rustoleum paint. Maybe clear it afterward. To really do it right I'd sand (or sandblast) all the old paint off, wipe it down with a degreaser (DX330) or paint prep, primer and paint it OR right after the sanding, paint it with POR-15 gloss.

What type of paint should I paint it with. I cleaned it real good, then cleaned with brake cleaner then prepsall (wax and grease remover). I primed and painted it with hightemp engine paint because I had it around. It came out real good and looked great. Then I got some brake fluid on it while bleeding the brakes because I didn't have the cap snaped on all the way and it took the paint off.

Is there anything that is more resistant to brake fluid.

They're powdercoated from the factory. You could do that or just be more careful with the brake fluid. Once you put the Master cylinder cover on, you shouldn't get any brake fluid on it. ;)

I didn't have it snapped on all the way while bleeding them. I got lazy one time filling it and got it all over.

It was all rusty so I stripped it primed and painted.

Oh well now it will just look like crap, like the rest of the car.
