Has anyone had a problem with the switch that tells the computer your car is in Park or in Drive? Where is the switch located? Is there some wire I can connect to so as to test the switch. I have a custom computer chip that needs this signal.

B10 (orange/black wire) on the ecm is the p/n (park/neutral) circuit. ECM Connectors

I believe you would ground the circuit to simulate R OD D 2 1. Run a jumper from a ground and tap the wire.

The p/n switch is up under the dash on the column.

Thank You very much Rick!!!!!
This problem has been driving me crazy. It has been preventing me from programming my chip. I am still not sure the problem is the switch. It could be the chip. The chip MFG. keep saying it is the switch. But I want to prove it before I change the switch. I will try it later today.

You pretty much proved it is the P/N switch in your post over on the full throttle web site, if while you're monitoring your INT value on scanmaster with key on engine off and you shift through all the gears, and notice no change in your INT value then it's pretty certain there's an issue with the P/N switch or it's wiring.

Hey TurboDave, You are right. I was asking fullthrottle about the same problem. Rick gave me what I needed and wasn't getting from FT. FT helped in pointing me to the P/N switch but I needed to know what color the wire was and how the switch worked. The color helps me find the switch as there is more then one down there. And the Wiring Diagram helps me know how it worked so I could test. I needed to test to see if it was the switch or wiring problem.
I found that either the switch is bad or there is a problem with the wire going to the trans. For now I can unconnect the switch and jumper the connector going to the computer to get the correct results. This way I can program the chip.

Again Thank You Rick for the Help!!
