Well my buddy did... This one guy's wife went off on him for having 2 projects so he had to sell his 85 hot air. It had a blown head gasket, 100k miles, but the interior is mint, the body is straight and rust free, and the paint is decent.

I think it has a hotwired Walbro, CAI, and maybe a couple other mods. I don't know what these cars are worth, but I think he hit paydirt.

It depends on what your buddy's goals are with the car. Is it a TTYPE or a GN? If the body and interior are as good as you say and it is a GN he got a good deal. If the car is parted it out it is worth alot of $$. A die hard guy (me) would rebuild it and make it go. It all depends on your friends goal. Brad

Take some pictures!!! Theres so few pictures of them on this site. I always enjoy seeing other peoples hot air cars. ;)

Brad, We must have both replied at exact same time. lol

How do i tell if its a T type or a GN?

He owns a repair shop so he is just going to rebuild the engine and leave the thing close to stock to drive around.

However, he can't touch the car until he gets his wife's 82 firebird drag car done, lol.

If everybody is paying lots of attention to it,.. then its a gn. If its any color but black, then nobody even notices. just kidding. Unless its been tampered with, then it should have grand national emblems on the front fenders and pass side dash board. Might possibly still have the aluminum turbine spoke wheels with black inserts too.
