Well after finding a check ball out of place I put the tranny back together and it worked great. Last night I decided to put some miles on it and after about 10 miles of driving, it began to have the same symtoms as my last post (see further down the tranny section) It starts out in 2nd gear, and I found out I do have a 2-3 shift but it is extremely high, at about 65 mph. It is extremely hard when it shifts. and from a start if I drop it into 1st manually and kick it back into drive the 1-2 shift is extemly late and harsh as well. When we had the valve body off, the TV system appeared to be operating alright but the symptoms sound like the TV vavle is messed up and causing too high of pressure and the governor can not exhaust all the pressure before it can drop back into 1st gear. Also adjusting the TV cable has no effect on the shift points or the harshness of them, it still does the same thing. Before when the tranny was working fine the TV cable was able to be adjusted. What should I be looking at and what other shift valves should I look at when the valve body is down. This is the same valve body and Art carr shift kit I have always used and after recently destroying the stock OD planetary and twisting the input shaft, I guess some debree some how is hanging up something.

Well I have the valve body off and the TV pressure shaft that the TV cable presses on does not seem right, yesterday when I pressed in the (lifter? is that what it is called?) there was a small check ball that would block the orifice but today when I push in the lfter there is no check ball doing anything. Does this sound like my problem?

TV valve

I'm not a tranny guru, but it sounds to me like your TV valve is
stuck rearward in is bore. I don't have the lifter rod or check ball in my transmission, and it works fine without them. :) Have you done a line pressure check?

Yeah I realised today after talking to my dad and reading the instructions to the ART CARR shift kit that the #5 check ball is supposed to be out(and it was not in there, I must haev imagined seeing it or something) but when I took the TV assembly apart, it was a little binded up and not very easy to move the rod in and out of the lifter. My 3-4 pin was also binded up it seems, I'm not sure how but it was not moving and then it took a little force to break it free as well, I was not happy with my suddenly soft 3-4 shift so hopefully that will solve that as well. we are cleaning the whole valve body tommorow so hopefully this will solve our "slight inconveniences" lol

JD, make sure you re install all the pistons and valves back in the correct directions and that above all else, keep everything CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Us lint free rags when working on the unit and use assembly lube on all valving. Sounds like you had some debris pass thru the TCC and valve body. Mark :D
