Possible for TCC to be partially activated?

Hi all... me again! My WE4 stalls when put into gear about 80% of the time. If I blip the throttle even slightly prior to moving the shifter, it won't do it and will be fine. The car "lurches" some when put into gear. A funny thing is that I had this tranny in my T-Type last year, and it exhibited the same symptoms (it also had the same heads and intake, but haven't seemed to find any problems there). If it matters, I have a 9.5" PI multi disc l/u and did the check ball removal mod in the input shaft. I am wondering if it is possible for the clutches to be partially engaged when I pull it in gear? The clutches do thier "trademark" clattering when in park or neutral. Thanks, Jay
