First of all the car has had a aftermarket alarm system at one time with a previous owner. I have tested the relay and it is working. I pulled the door panel (passenger side) and when I try the switch I don't get any power to the actuator. This is the last bug I have left to fix from the previous owners screw ups. I haven't traced the wires into the cabin of the car. I am thinking the aftermarket alarm that used to be on the car has something to do with this. I would love to get this resolved. It would be like a victory for me to have all the original options on the car working again.

Could be something as easy as the switch itself? Try swapping the switch with the drivers side before you go tracing wires. My local Autozone had a new switch in stock in the HELP! section. I'm pretty sure it was less than $20.

Both door switches cause the relay to operate. Is there a spot that is common for alarm installers to hook up the remote for power door locks?

Hello Groumoutis,
I just ran into the same problem with my GN. Did you find out what was your problem?

I kmow that my ground is good, I jumped/supplied 12v to the switch and the locks work fine. They also work well with the keyless entry from the aftermarket alarm remote, but locks won't work when I use the lock switches on the door (there is no power). I have checked all fuses (they are ok), checked the harness (seems ok) and switch the driver & passenger switch, but still nothing.

The orange wire at either door lock switch has 12V from the CIG-CLK fuse. When the switch is in the lock position, the 12V is applied to the light blue wire. When in the unlock position 12V goes to the black wire. Use a multimeter or test light to see if the switch is working properly. If so, then go to the door lock relay.

At the relay you have the same light blue and black wires from the door switches. In addition there is orange/black that gets 12V from the PWR ACCY circuit breaker. The relay outputs to the door lock motors are a grey wire and a tan wire.
Lock - grey = 12V, tan = ground
Unlock - grey = ground, tan = 12V

If all of this is good, the problem is the door lock motor but since they are wired in parallel, they would both have to bad if both were not working.

Hi dennisl,
Where is the door lock relay located? Is it under the hood on one of the fenders?
Unlock - grey = ground, tan = 12V

The door lock relay is inside the car, behind the computer (passenger kick panel).

Thanks for your help. I will check the relay and harness on the passenger side. I had the doors off a couple months ago to paint, and just have gotten to the point of installing all the internals for the door. I checked everything, except the relay, I will check it and let you know what i find. I believe that this my be my problem, b/c both switches wouldn't go.out at the same time.

I wish the relay was my problem. Mine has to be a cut wire. I push the switch and the relay operates but no power makes it to the actuator. That is what leads me to believe that when a previous owner had a car alarm installed the wires were cut for the remote feature. The alarm is long gone now. The only remnant is the holes from where they mounted the siren.
