Is there a nice clean way to get the little I/O thing (looks like a mini cable splitter) wired in direct, instead of having this 1991 tan computer cable sticking out of the bottom of my ecm housing, and disappearing into my glovebox ? I want to wire in my scanmaster without that huge cable sticking out.

Run the cable up where the ecm wires run and then over the spot suggested for the block. With the hatch back on it's out of sight. Only the USB cable is visible. No biggie.

That cable should not be visible if installed correctly. It faces the firewall and can run up behind the ECM housing and up behind the dash.

The directions say to run it out torwards the exterior, so that it hangs out. Though, if I run it backwards, is there enough room so that the cable doesn't bind, and put a lot of pressure on the PL circuit board?

I've installed several powerloggers and have done it exactly like Dave describes.
