does the stock elbow bolt up to a precision housing? i have a ta49 turbo with a precision housing it looks like it wont seal up to good.

If the prescision housing is machined for a big puck and your elbow has a stock puck, it won't work. Otherwise it should, but the elbow may overlap the turbine outlet some. Bolt it on drive around a bit and then unbolt it to look at the carbon patterns. You can blend away any interference you see.

I guess the answer is "it depends". It depends on whether you're buying new or used.

I just sent my 51 back to Precision to have the housing replaced. My THDP wasn't lined up right - it covered the turbine hole a bit and the puck was off a bit, too. They told me that they're only machining the housings with stock-sized holes now due to variations in aftermarket elbows/DPs. So, if you get a new one it will work. If you get a used one, you may wind up with one built for a THDP or other "big puck" elbow.

HTH,
Jim
