the other day i did a service on my tranny, and that included a new tv cable.
after it was all said and done, i drove the car, and the tranny slipped real bad, but really only on take off through the gears, unless i nail'd it. at wot, the tranny shifted good. so i finally realized the tv cable needed adjustments.
I adjusted it by driving, pulling over and adj., what ever. then the thing shifted way too hard, but really felt tight and the car felt alot faster than normal. I played with it all day, but couldnt get it to shift right, it was either too hard of a shift, or slipped from second to third real bad, even at wot. then at one point, it was taking off in second gear
I then realized i had 1&1/2 quarts too much dextron. i pumped it out, but didnt get a chance to drive it yet, is it possible that the extra amount of oil would not let the tranny shift properly while I was adjusting the tv cable? any help would be very appreciated, i cant afford a new tranny right now, also, what kind of damage could too much oil do? p.s., before i changed the filter, fluid and cable, the tranny shifted perfect, soft when babbied, and firm when wot. thanks
