Well, squidlette, maybe you're old enough to remember Jimmah Carter and the wonderful economy during his 4 years, or you're aware of the thrilling economic situation from 1993 to 1996 (you know - when Billy BJ was squeezin' his spunk into the White House sink, before he became an economic genius thanks to Congressionally-implemented tax cuts and welfare reform.)

Then again, you probably don't remember how things got quite good between say, 1984 and 1991, when my personal preference for sainthood - Ronald W. REAGAN - followed by another great American - G.H.W. Bush, ran this country.

But I feel your pain. (Biting my lower lip.)

UNGN>> What do you mean I didnt see the economy coming around...the construction industry is one of the first to boom & one of the first to get dead..the construction industry will usually show its colors before any other buisness..im talking commercial construction now..not residental..that comes later like car buisness does...all I know is when we started to boom..we were doing ok when bush1 was in then election year we almost stopped then after everything was settled we really started to boom..buisness was like 300k monthly where before best was 125k monthly..that gross also...rental & sales combined..then I later got in car sales & all was good then election year again with bush & gore & we almost stopped in car sales also then all I know after that it has never been the same..alot to be blamed on 9-11 & a local tax hike here later...bush2 is a hell of alot better than bush1..bush1 flat out sucked & anyone thinking he did a good job is on crack..bush2 i will admit has done a good job with all that has happened but liek his dad we dont know if we killed who we was going after in this war..just kinda gave up like bush1 seems like...I just wanna make some money & provide for my mid income family & I have had better success with democrat...
Im not a big gore fan at all..but clinton was the man..he was a leader..he could run again you know..or his wife...

• will put a higher priority on what is good for the country over what is good for his party (a toughy, bikers LOVE to party!)
• will support and protect individual rights instead of group rights (how 'bout BOTH?)

I didn't quite mean to touch off this firestorm with my comments....lol Well as long as the fire is lit I'll make a few more observations that will likely get me in trouble. Basically all of the hard-core partisan Republican and Democrat types need to take a step back and realize there is plenty of blame to go around on both sides.

Ronnie Reagan a saint? Please. That guy sent budgets to Congress that were so overloaded with pork we are still paying for the after effects to this day. Remember before Ronnie got into office our country was a creditor nation rather than a debtor. Ronnie never raised taxes either. LOL He just took away everyones deductions instead. Remember when you could deduct interest and license tags on a car? That all went away under the Reagan administration. Under Ronnie's watch over 200 Marines got blown up in Beirut and he did nothing. Sorry but Reagan was no hero. He should have stuck to doing sh!!ty Vegas lounge acts with his monkey Bonzo.

The Democrats have plenty of blood on their hands also. What a stain on the Presidency Clinton was. A lying bastard that catered to the special interest groups and sunk low enough to pardon a bunch of Puerto Rican terrorists so his old lady might pick up enough Puerto Rican votes in NYC to become Senator. Unfortunately it worked. He let a bunch of our sailors on the USS Cole get blown to hell and didn't do a damn thing about it. U.S. and Israeli intelligence provided the means for Clinton to snatch Bin Laden and kill the SOB, but Bubba was too busy pandering to the Chinese to care. The only thing Clinton did was launch some missles in Africa to try and deflect the criticism at home over him defiling the Presidential office by getting BJs in the oval office from a fat intern.

People need to wake up and realize that both the Democrats and Republicans have created the mess we are in today. Both parties seem only too happy to keep Americans divided in order to maintain the status quo with the two party system. They want us pointing the finger at one another. The only finger that should be pointed is the collective middle finger of every American, pointed directly towards Washington. Throw them all out!!! Just my opinion.

It may, but you don't build buildings overnight. The capital needs to be allocated, site found, permits filed, surveys, loans secured, blah, blah, blah and the company has to see consumer confidence returning before they do anything.

My company has had a hiring freeze and a "no new square footage" plan since 10/2001. We are in the Aviation industry servicing the major airlines, and yet we have big time travel restrictions. It's hard for an industry to come back when even the people who rely on it for their income won't use it. But... they are coming back.

Clinton wasn't a "leader". Leaders don't take a poll and then tell you what you want to hear. Leaders do things that the country may disagree with but are the right thing to do. Clinton is a pathalogical egomaniac which is sometimes confused as a leader.

I watched my telecom stock portfolio disappear under clinton (try getting a job in that industry). If people lost their Job under Bush 2, its because the money to pay their salary disappeared while clinton was still in office. I know mine did.

I agree , right now there seems to be no worthy democrats for the presidency, however, it is a commonly known fact that democrats do not spend anywhere near the dollars on defense as the republicans. Republicans have put the country into extrordinary debt through defense spending , where as the democrats seem to channel that money into more domestic issues.

The battle against global terrorism actually costs way less than the alternative: Station guards at every possible point in the US that could kill people or significantly damage the economy. Any large Oil storage tank, any school, any choke point on a major highway, any airport, any outdoor event. The number of possible targets is staggering.

I drive past 20 of those places on my way to work. That's Millions of "guards" required to sit around and get paid for nothing, waiting for something that "might" happen.

Or we can do what we are doing. Going after the terrorists and those that support them. The Funding, the infrastructure, the people. Eventually they will see that dieing for their cause isn't worth it.

In the 40's the US faced 100 times more suicide bombers that world has seen in recent years. You won't find many Japaneese people willing to strap on 2000lb bombs and kill americans today, however. It wasn't because we added more guards down at the mall (the current Democrat plan to fight global terrorism).
