I installed Razors alky controller over the weekend and was wondering what the voltage output is for the LED turn-on light. I wanted to wire in the existing light I already have instead of the supplied LED. I have one of the pencil type Autometer warning lights already installed from my previous DIY Alky setup. I tested the output on the gray wire and found 9 volts, which would not light up the existing Autometer (12V) light. I then tried the LED with 12 volts and fried it into oblivion (that is what happens when you are a mechanical engineer and not electrical).

Razor if I have to go back to the supplied LED can you give me the specs so I can go get another one. What is the typical output voltage for the gray wire? Is there a way to get the Autometer light to work besides going to a relay?

Many thanks, and it works great. I hope to finally get into the 10's on pump gas. We will see....

The output of the gray wire is limited on purpose. The limiting resistor is built in to not allow the smoke to come out of the controller. And.... the purpose of the LED is to establish a turn-on point for the system. A shift lite is overkill, and anything with a filament may fail. If you need an LED with a higher MCD(brightness) LED, let me know I can send you one. The one used for the low level indicator is brutal. And at night.. if you point it at yourself.. will be super annoying. The power injection bulb should increase with pump drive as well.

Any LED will work with the controller, as the resistor is built into the main box.

Any tuning q's ya got.. hit me up..

Many thanks for the reply.

If I use the power injection bulb, I would assume it will not light up either because the small pen style warning light bulb does not light up. Is this not true? Does the power injection light illuminate enough to see it? I can't remember what type of bulb is used for the power injection slot, 194 maybe? Or are you putting the LED behind the injection light? I don't have the instructions in front of me. I hope to get my wide band hooked up this weekend so I can data log O2 and EGT. I recently upgraded to 72lb injectors so I am trying to get that well tuned before I get the Alky really going full tilt.

Many thanks for your quick responses and tuning help.

You can use the shift lite instead of the PI bulb. Note how I call it a Bulb and not an LED.

The turnon led is to go by the boost guage.

Drop me a call and i'll walk you through whatever ya need.

Better turn down the INJ DC on the 72's way down.. my car on 75's runs at 50% DC

Alot ;)

I've always looked at EGT, IAT, and ESC and if all of those are inline... then its on target. Rough questimate.. 10-12 oz per pass. Next time out i'll fill the tank, do a pass.. then refill and see how much was consumed.

My INJ DC was at 45% in the mid 11 sec range at 122 MPH. At 126 it was at 50%. This according to FAST. My last run it went up to 52-53% and I lost a few MPH.

razor, is it possible to get other color leds for the pi and level led's with the kit?
