I want to fine tune a 7th injector (ATR) that taps the fuel rail. I was thinking that I might be able to use an NOS flare jet in the fuel line. Are special fittings needed? Would this even work?

I know the norm is bigger injectors and a chip, but I am working on something a little different for my own self interests. I just need something untill I get my own controller built and debugged.

I don't have any experience with NOS, but it looks to me like the jets just go right in the fuel line and the flared end of the jet just replaces the flare on the male side of a connection. I am hoping someone here has some hands on experience and can tell me what I need.

I am also unsure as to the feasibility of using a jet to retrict flow to a fuel injector. I don't think that atomization is going to be an issue because it looks like the fuel just kind of dribbles into the upper plenum with the ATR set up, unless it sprays hard enough to make a 90 degree turn in a 3/16" passage.

Im sure it could be done with some aeroquip TFE hose and some fittings. This is what I use to repair or make custom nitrous lines. Why not tune with injector size? It woud be a lot easier. I had one of those set ups and just would go up in injector size. Ive used everything from a 19# stang injectors( free) stock GN s, 009 to a 72 #er in my set up.All were used and cheap .

Both ways its gonna cost about the same.

Good Luck

I tried Holley's NOS site again with IE5 and could get the fittings page (I guess it isn't Mozilla friendly!).

Looks like the fitting for the jets is 3-AN to 1/8" NPT. Even if the 7th is 1/8" NPT it looks like I'd need several fittings and a 3-AN to 4-AN hose to get to 6-AN at the fuel rail. $42 plus jets.
