My local distributors dont have the M3 yet :frown:

Dunno.. try it and post the results.

Would be nice to do back to back testing. Like make three runs.. get an average.. then make three runs with M3 and get an average.

Hell no.. too hot :D

Was at the track all day yesterday figuring out a new combo.. ran 10.64 on radials pump gas + alky last run of the night.. resting today.. need to wash car and get rubber of the 1/4 panels.

Dont know what alky was in the tank.. think it was Sunoco methanol

Whats the new combo? Is this the one that will go 9's or are you still on your temp motor. haha

im running the VP M1
with my boost issues finally worked out with the MSBC-1 i finally got to run razors alky full throttle on the 86 , on first night of tuning on a TT 'street' chip (22/20 timing) runing 93 and dual nozzle spraying the M1 , soft launch (3psi - 3750 rpm off stageright using the msbc-1 two step ) an overly rich bottom end (pegs the DS out of the hole) . went back to back runs at 23psi through the run
1.62
4.48
6.93 @ 99.81
9.07
10.91 @ 122.61

reached 62% of the 75# injectors at 5650
using about 10 oz per pass
alky gain set midway (12:00)

looking back at my past runs without alky on a 26/25 degree TT race chip at same boost the mph and times isnt too far from what it did before , the top end needs some tweaking as it should be picking up closer to 26mph
this was on the MT 255/50-16s using OD
now i have some data for eric to do his majic with

1.564
4.436
6.811
103.30
8.883
10.648
126.38

Swapped turbo's for a GTQ71.. I was having issues spooling it.. then having issues with boost control.. that last run it was at 27 PSI till the 800-900 foot mark then I turned it down to 25. The boost controller was giving me fits thats why I turned it down.

I need to get on the ball and build the new engine so my panties dont get in a wad everytime I see 27+ PSI on the stock pistons/rods/crank/bottom end.

And then hit it with some juice going down the track. ;)

Awesome.. way to go.. bring the timing up. that will bring down EGT's.. and get the car moving.

Keep us posted :)

those times arent too far from where I'm at. will be a while before i go for the 26 psi run s. I'm running the older GTQ 71 (smaller cast compressor diameter ) 4in 2.5 out 70 A/R housing with the .85 exhaust , race weight was 3420# , i shifted to 4th at 110 (5600)
5 passes that night and zero KR and zero knock recorded on DS .

after going through the surging issues and getting them sorted out sortof and then getting the two step launch straightened out (had o go to a 5psi spring in the HKS gate) only to have the upper boost surging come back it was nice to finnaly launch off the boost and see the unit operate properly and maintain a steady boost down the track , i tried to run at 20psi but the boost control seemed to operate like a rev limiter and couldnt get past 5300 rpm with 110 at the traps , after trying 22psi the boost was stable to the shift point but started to slow around 5500 , only saw 116 at the traps 1540 egts ( way way rich ) , so i pulled fuel (5% in chip) and lowered alky a bit from 1:00 to 12:00and it woke right up ,1640 egt.

nice thing is now i can launch at a boost (foot to floor) that wont vary and run a much more consistent target boost than i could before and alter it based on time through the run , knowing when ill be in third i can drop the boost by setting the stages (5 of them that can be set up to 4.99 seconds each stage) . for the past few months i hated this msbc-1 but now that it seems to be working i can se it being a great tool .
just found my virgin low mile stock header has developed a crack between 3 and 5 , i think its time to get a good set of headers
4 moths ago when i installed the msbc-1 with the old chip and the msbc-1 having issues and a bouncing 23-26 psi (had race gas in it because i couldnt trust the boost controller) it went 10.56 at 127 (102 1/8) on 28- 10.5 15 slicks with a 12 psi launch 1.44 60'
i fully expect the same or better numbers once i get to 25psi

I agree. I know you like taking your time.. that is a virtue some of us just dont have.

We all get caught up in the McDonalds I want it rite now and do stupid things in the heat of the moment. Instead of playing our game.. we play someone elses.

Thanks for sharing.. it always pays off when you systematically take your time.

Jason.. that covers looks great with the polished A/R 75 4 in 3 out :D

Dont mind the other two hoses ;)

time i got , :), helps having a great track a stones throw away too

i totally agree you need to take time and watch every aspect of the tune as you move forward , especially when playing with a stock motor :D

started with alky at 3:00 (as per razors advice) , chip at base
11.98 111 20psi 1533 egt

took out a little alky (2:00) raised launch to 6 psi
12.48 110 (spun on launch) 1502egt

made some adjustments based on DS since it was so rich i was safe to raise the boost
11.57 116 22psi , back to 4psi launch alky at 1:00 1545 egt
finally it made power to 5300 and was for the most part a clean run so i now had a good injectory duty to base my next move on

made some more light tweaks mostly pulled fuel aiming for a 55% inj duty and bumped up boost to lean the spool end a little since the alky tends to cover the top end due to the map sensor based injection
10.93 122.22 now at 23psi 1688egt
finally shes was pulling to 5700 clean

last run added 2 degrees 1-2 gear timing and pulled some more alky 12:00
10.91 122.61 at 23psi 1672 egt

all the time during runs watching the caspers led knock sensor for any activity watching the SM for o2 , reveiwing the DS recordings and egt for signs of it getting too lean on the big or any signs of KR or knock and logging all the data for each run that DS cant record
right now it needs timing as razor pointed out as egts are at the edge of where i feel safe and ive run quickest at 1600, and i need one of erics latest chips to tweak the 1st gear fuel

Razor- where can you buy VP Methanol in Tampa? I wouldn't mind trying the M3 either. I've tried the Sonoco and M1 so far.
