RDS Radio

This is my stock radio in the 01 monte and is just now starting to display the artists and the song names. Anyone have this radio in the other cars? The salesman told me the radio stations would start using this but it never happened until now. Just curious.

I had an aftermarket Denon cd player in the Cutlass that had RDS. Sometimes it displayed the info. It depended on signal stregnth and if the radio stations were using the format or not. For me it was an ok feature but not an important one. I got the radio for the sound quality. The new Nakamichi that I have doesn't have it but the sound is beautiful. I don't miss the RDS, my opinion.

My Trailblazer in the states had this and I beleive there is a way to turn the feature on and off. Mine has always displayed the radio station and when you push info, will show either a short summary of the station or the artist/song currently playing. Neat little feature.

Although I never really had the traffic feature work on my radio. Not sure if radio stations in my area supported that feature yet. I was going to take my radio to GM and see if there was something wrong with it since it's under warranty.

We have that feature here and it will stop the CD/Tape from playing and give traffic information. Annoying sometimes though.

Yeah my info button doesn't work too well either, matter of fact it is the only button that doesn't light up! I tool it because because I still have the warrenty and they refused to fix it for some reason. Weird
