I want to repaint all my front & rear window trim.

I have it all off and plan to use the SEM 39143 paint.

Should i strip it down to bare with air craft stripper or similar ?
or
Wet sand it and spray it ?

What grit paper is recommended ?

You could just use scotch brite if there are no chips in the old paint. The SEM paint sticks very well, and hides very well, too.

there really are no chips in the paint. Which Scotch Brite pads would you recommend ? believe it or not Ive never used any of 'em..

Trim pieces

Not sure of the name of them, however I just re-did my trim and used the dark red (burgundy) scotch pads. They seemed to work better the more that they were used.
Make sure that you sand down the trim where there are any chips or divots. While sanding down where there is a chip, sand hard enough to see the color change, the chip disappear, and then blend the sanding in. Usually a small chip will require sanding until there is a color change of the size of a quarter. Rough numbers. You will understand this better after you do the first one.

When I go to work I will get the name of the pads I used and post it.

Also, if you break any or all of those plastic clips, metal replacements can be used. I just snapped mine in the other day.

Good luck,
Busyman

i got lucky and didnt break any of the clips:)

take a look at what you used if you dont mind. I looked around, did you use the7447's maybe ?

Good job not breaking the clips. I will look for the name of the pads at work Thursday.

Pad names.

Sorry for the delay, it has been a busy week.
The name of the pads are as folows:
Scotch-Brite 07447+ General purpose hand pad.

Good luck, it is definitely worth the effort.
