The time has come for some new brakes for the gn, im sticking with the stock setup up front but need something with some extra holding power out back. What does everyone think about the "soft compound rear brake shoes set" from kirban?

thanks

From cottons descripton it sounds like they are the same ones kirban is selling

Got my soft shoes from Cotton and with the wheel cyl upgrade, it will hold 10 lb boost with slicks. I didn't take my rotors in to have them turned, so it takes about 20 miles or so before they will break in and hold boost. Also, even with the shoe adjuster all the way in, I needed a rubber mallet to get the drum back on.

Tried the 10 lb launch on a stock suspension with air bags, and the rear rebounded and unloaded from the shock of the launch and spun the slicks over a few times before hooking  . I'm just throwing out all this info so you will know what to expect with this setup. I will need to do something different with my airbags or rear suspension to utilize the higher boost launch, since my 60s for the T below were on 2 to 3 lb launches. Tim

I would look into your stock suspension. Trying to launch with that much boost the stock pieces are probably flexing real good along with the softer bushings flexing too much. I would contact hrpartsnstuff for some upgraded pieces. This should eliminate your problem.
