I was on the Year One web page and i saw Metco and Global West both made a Set of Rear control arms for the G-bodies. I was wondering if anybody had any experience with either of these oother 2 companies i see alot of people using Hotchicks but the Globals Wests look pretty good ..any info would be help full.
And since i know very little about suspension can some one give me a brief run down on what the rear control arm does??

here is the site :http://www.yearone.com/serverfiles/fbshopmain2.asp?cat=B

I've got a set of upper and lower HRPartsNStuff ( www.hrpartsnstuff.com ) control arms on my '87 T & am VERY happy with them. Price is very fair, esp. for the quality!

A buddy of mine (DCTurbo on this board) runs the Global West stuff and is happy with them. The car has gone 11.70's and I believe mid 1.6x 60's with a 26" DOT slick.

HRpartsNstuff makes some awesome products! :D

Actually, most of the "name brand" rear control arms out there are pretty good. We found that each one had many good points, and also a few not-so-good points. We looked at all the different ones, took all the good points, and added a few things of our own to make ours all good points & NO downside. We have many details listed in the products section on our site, and you can get current pricing in our purchase section (don't have to make a purchase). I would stay away from the "rod end" types myself. They ride much rougher & tend to oval out the bolt holes after time from all the forces. Not real good for handling either. We made ours work from 14 sec street cars down to 8.60's (so far :) ) My car went 10.71 with a 1.40 60 ft., so I would say they work OK :D

PS-Thanks Doug for passing on our info. Nothing like happy customers helping others!

Now how well would they work for road racing im really into that and i want my car to be able to carve corners with the best sports cars. This assuming that there are differnt control arms for different purposes... i could be wrong though as seeing they all have the same principals.

ok saw the site ,so how much does a set of adjustables run??

But the arms from HR parts will not easily work with the ATR rear bar, is that correct Paul? I have been considering lowers but want something that is compatible with the ATR bar.

Ours are made to have the exact same distance between the arms (once installed) as the stockers. We offset the tubes slightly to compensate for the thicker material we use. This way, any stock style swaybar should fit fine. Many have reported the ATR bars to be oversize & need modification to fit with anyone's arms. Sometimes they fit the stockers easier because the softer rubber in the arms let's them move around & spread easily. We have quite a few cars using our arms & the ATR swaybars.

Please note that you don't want the arms to spread apart with any brand CA or Swaybar. This will put too much force on the outer edges & cause problems, bind, & damage to the bushings.

All current pricing can be found in the purchase section on our site. Feel free to surf there with NO obligation. Our upper adj's are $299, and include our custom greaseable bushings for the top ears in the rearend.
