Some of you may have seen my "Big problems" post on here. But i just got a "Gopher" remanufactured motor, and after it was too late everyone told me not to go with the motor. I'v been hearing nothing but bad things about remanufactured motors, but i wanted to see what kind of experiences people that have put a remanufactured motor in their buick. If you have purchased and ran one of these motors please let me know what kind of experiences you have had. My dad called them and they said that the motor is built to factory specs except for one thing to do with the crank. They also said that they have sold quite a few of these motors and haven't had any complaints. I haven't had time yet to call them up myself and get all the info, but what questions should i ask them? Really the only thing i'm worried about is the crank goin out, since that's what happened to the motor to make me buy a new one. If you have any info please let me know

thanks
dan

thei pricesare very reasonable. If you have't already gotenthe motor, whynt cugh p the xtra $300 and ask if they can put the correct crank n it. Buick put that special crank in i fo a reason..Good luck whatever yo deceide to do.

I am running a Jaspers motor now, the original is sitting in mat garage. Making about 300-350rwhp right now with no problems (longblock related:D) so far. Someone just posted in the lounge he was running 11.2 I think on the same crank we have. Bottom line is keep it below 350hp and you will probably be ok. Next year I am going to try to grenade mine:cool:

GNSCOTT,

I think you need a new keyboard there. BTW, where is onnecticut? :p

I would think it would hurt the value of your car. If you would've put a rebuilt in it from a reputable builder from the Buick community then it would have been much more appealing to the buyer. What you are left with now is either someone that doesn't know better will buy it or you will have to drop your price enough to get their attention. Good luck.
