I have an aftermaket pinion snubber on my car right now, but I plan of removing it. It worked good on my car before when it ran mid 12's in stock form. Now I'm having problems with the weight transfer of my car. Car is now running in the 120's mph zone, but my 60 ft time is not very good. I think when the car squats it is hitting the pinion snubber to soon and it cause the car to shock the tires. Just want to know if it is good just to remove the snubber completely. Car has 90/10 front shocks and 50/50 rear shocks. Not a daily driver.

I wouldn't remove it; I didn't realize mine was missing when I bought the car. When I got the car up in the air to replace the snubber I noticed some damage to my brake lines, not bad but according to the previous owner it hadn't been raced, so who knows what kind of damage might have been done if it had. Still haven't gotten answer to why it was missing. You might want to try an air bag if you don't already have one.

I'd leave the snubber in there. There must be something else that needs attention in your rear suspension now that you are putting some more power to the ground. Boxed uppers and lowers??? Maybe you just need wheelie bars. :D

I personally do not use a snubber. I went with a set of adjustable uppers and 1/4 longer lowers from HRPARTSNSTUFF. Teo air bags and I have no problem with wight transfer on drag radials. I set 3 degrees of pinion angle and all seems to be fine. I cant wiat t try the et streets in 28X12.50X15.

Good point Sam! I went to your other thread and read what other's are saying. It makes sense. I'll leave mine in though since mine doesn't seem to affect my short time any. :D Plus right now I'm too damn lazy to get up underneath that beast again. Man I need a lift.

Dude get rid of it . I did, i then set up my Metcos and airbag spacers from HR parts. I busted of some Mid 1.4s hanging the right front in every pass. These are the best 60 fts my car has ever run. Im sure the car will do low 1.4s with virtually minor tire, airbag pressure changes.I bet anything that that stupid long ass snubber would have hurt me lots.

Hey Louie, what kind of times do you run? I just put metcos and airbag spacers in mine after ditching the snubber. If I could bust some 1.4x, I would be in the tens! my best this year at the eighth mile track was a 1.75, but I had a 1.90 on my 11.61 pass, at 120 mph. Plus I wanna hang the tires!

Thanks! I'm going to try it with the snubber off. I have the 2 air bags in my car, but I am not using them at the moment.

I just ran my best ET ever ,10.80 @ 120 at Bristol during Qualifications.( #3 spot for the saturday TSM race). The low MPH was due my converter stalling too high and i was motoring right through it. I did that with a 1.46 60 ft pullin the tires really hard. Scott Simpson can tell u about that.;)
