Was thinking about pulling the pan for an inspection and was curious what it takes with a girdle.

I've done it a couple times. It's NOT easy though. The biggest problem are the studs at the forward corners of the girdle (the last studs before the studs that go into the timing cover) will get in the way and I had to remove them so the pan would clear. Also had to remove the studs in the timing cover, but that was pretty easy. But other than that, it was pretty much the same as without the girdle. Thankfully , now I own an engine hoist, so next time if it becomes necessary, I'll at least use the hoist to pull the motor up a few extra inches and then it will be a snap!! :)
