Removing Shifter Handle

The search feature doesn't look like its working, kudos to the board for getting everything up and running after whatever that was this morning.

How do I get the shifter handle off? Does the clip on the side push in or pull out?

Basically my shifter, when you press in the button, doesn't pull down the stop far enough to overcome the teeth and go into park- I imagine there is a piece of plastic in there broken.

Tips, pointers, advice, all would be appreciated.

Use a pick tool and pull the clip out. Once you do that all you may need to do is un thread the adjustment rod.Its the white platic rod under the handle. It may have gone out of adjustment.
