Replaced detent, still no red boost

It has taken some time to get this done due to operational commitments but it is in, the detent/TV cable that is.
Right now the transmission kicks into and out of passing gear, you can shift through all the gears again and all that seems fine. There is still a problem of no boost.

Guess I will get that VAC gauge and see what is going on with this thing. Maybe the indcator is broke. Don't think the sencondaries are opening either and it they don't open then there is no "red" level boost. Correct? Can't hear any vac leaks or anything, idles fine too.
At a complete loss with this thing right now. Any hints would be great.

Check to make sure that the secondary lock out on the pass. side of the carb is not keeping the secondaries from opening when warm. When these don't open the car will accelerate but will slow before shifting into second gear. I'm not sure if the red light would be on or not. It could be that the pressure switch is for the full boost red light light is not working anymore.

Thanks, they were binding but, the secondaries will open while it is parked but not under load. Starting to believe there is another vacuum leak, getting a "whistle" sound when the throttle is depressed as well. No, it is not the turbo!! Like there is a leak but there is not enough to make noise until the motor is put under load.

Maybe something will crop up while the the thermostat is being changed tomorrow.
 
I'm not what you mean when you say "the secondaries will open while it is parked but not under load". The secondaries are open via mechanical linkage, so the vacuum or load doesn't matter. When you are looking to see if the secondaries are opening, you are mainly concerned with the lower butterflies (throttle plates) in the throttle body, not the upper butterflies (air valves) in the air horn. Those should be held shut by spring pressure and easily opened with your finger (just make sure they aren't binding).

In the throttle body (base of carb) there are two shafts. The secondary shaft, when viewed from the driver's side, is green, with a slot, wrapped by a spring and have a black "pointer" sticking up towards 12 o'clock. When you work the linkage by hand, the pointer will move from 12 to ~3 o'clock. Notice the slot in the end fo the throttle shaft. It may not turn. If it isn't, then the throttle plates aren't opening, but this may be normal. As Scott mentioned, there is a lock out on the passenger side that keep the plates from opening when cold. You can either push it out of the way, or drive the car until warm. Then when you work the linkage, you should be able to see the slot move. The seconadries do not open until about 90% of full throttle. They are really good for WOT blasts.
