Doing another motor for a friend and it a stock bore should i put the stock rings back on there? Of course they would be new or just buy some file fit like i did on mine. Trying to save the guy some bucks.

Thanks Sean

Hey Sean, you are going to hone it, right. I don't think the rings will seat if it isn't honed. I've got my 206 cam, lifters, and DR timing chain that I will probably never use if he needs to save more money. The cam is barely used, just broke in and put about 400 miles on. Looks good. Call me if he needs this stuff. See ya!

Sam will know tomorrow on the block but no honing was needed i think. Keven will take your radiator. Give me your address so i can send you some cash. Later sean

I doubt you'll ever get your chrome moly rings to seat in the old, worn, smooth cylinder bores. Prepare the cylinders with a ball-type hone to allow them to break in. Then use tons of Tide detergent and a roll of paper towels to completely clean out the grit. Cutting this corner will make you a tad upset when the thing has permanent blow by.

Good Luck, Jim
