Is the 85 riviera turbo long block the same as the regal turbo?

Thinking of dropping on in a NA Regal any thoughts on this, is the intake, etc similiar to the regal?

The long block may be the same, but the turbo set up is very different. The Riviera's turbo hangs off the back of the intake, above the transaxle. Right where the firewall would be on a Regal.

The long block is identical. The difference in the block is the drain hole for the turbo is drilled and tapped into the rear area of the block just under the intake manifold edge. The drain set up looks just like the ones on the 86-87's.
The block is a 14 bolt and the oil pan is unique for the FWD config to clear the passenger side axle that runs under the pan.

Like what was posted above, I believe the longblock is identical. The turbo to intake adaptor, up pipe, and down pipe are different for sure.

The turbo appears to be the same as a 84-85 turbo Regal but the exhaust housing has a .82 A/R. The exhaust elbo looks like the ones on the carbureted turbos and has a miniscule wastegate puck. The down pipe, headers and crossover are compltely unique to the FWD Riv. The intake is the same, but there is a U pipe between the turbo and the intake.

That .82 A/R is very interesting. Do you know the one you were looking at is a stock turbo for sure? If so, it would be cool to put one of those on a hotair GN and see if it makes any difference at all on the mph. Maybe they used the .82 because of the FWD's lack of traction?

The car was bone stock. I saw that the wastegate actuator looked as if it had been removed before, but the turbo appears original. Yes, it is definitely a .82 A/R turbine housing.
